Pro-active IT Maintenance

Apek offers value for money fixed rate monthly pro-active maintenance plans to our clients. These popular all in one plans covers are created especially for each individual clients IT specifications. The plans all share the following features:

  • 24-7 Advanced IT System Monitoring – Partnering with Level Platforms who is the world wide leader in IT monitoring service solutions, Apek is leveraging their advanced solutions to provide our clients with unmatched service quality. Apek will customise 24-7 monitoring of the network which can include servers, desktops, firewalls, switches and even printers. All this is done 24-7 in realtime and backed up by fully trained IT staff for a truly proactive solution
  • Preventative Proactive Maintenance – Includes scheduled weekly remote checks, and optional scheduled onsite visits.
  • Reactive Maintenance – Includes onsite, telephone, and remote support for any issues that may arise.
  • General Administration – Includes setting up new computers, user accounts, printers, email addresses, backups etc.
  • Monthly Reports – Monthly maintenance report is sent to the client which includes problems solved, hours spent, engineer assigned, system uptime and performance, inventory reports etc. This information greatly enhances our communication and value to the client.

Apek's methodology towards its IT maintenance plans and infrastructure involves taking a proactive approach. Compared to traditional “reactive” maintenance plans, this approach leads to many benefits and advantages:

  • System is maintained with a continuous proactive, rather than a reactive focus. This enables Apek to see the big picture as compared to specific temporary problem patching. This leads to being able to address core issues rather than only address isolated specific problems as they arise.
  • Discover problems before they occur and cause further damage. This reduces risks, down time and costs of subsequent rectification. Prevention is always preferable than the cure.
  • System performance and reliability is always kept at optimum levels. Utilising 24-7 software monitoring in combination with our own in house engineers to support the system, this ensures an unmatched level service quality and efficiency.
  • IT Systems will be continuously improved. Rather than rectifying existing problems, Apek will suggest and implement solutions which will improve and benefit all users of the IT systems.

Apek's Proactive IT maintenance support comprises of three main groups of activities:

1. Planned IT Maintenance The main focus of Planned Maintenance is to identify any problems and issues via our 24-7 monitoring systems and regular maintenance checks. Issues identified can then be dealt with according to severity. This ensures Apek can identify issues before they actually occur thus reducing any risks in future.

2. Defect IT Maintenance The main focus of Defect Maintenance is to react to any issues and problems as they occur and deal with them promptly. Defect maintenance usually involves the client notifying Apek of any problems or issues relating to their network, software or hardware. Apek will then respond accordingly by dispatching a qualified engineer onsite or logging in remotely from our workshop.

3. Administration & Enhancement Maintenance The main focus of Administration & Enhancement Maintenance activities is to enhance and modify the existing IT system to provide additional features and benefits. This can include day to day networking administration. As identified from Planned and Defect maintenance, Apek will proactively suggest regular recommendations and improvements that require implementing new technologies which will benefit the client’s business. This can include new software solutions and modifications to the existing system as a result of our workshop research and validation testing.

4. Disaster Recovery & Planning Every single day, IT systems and networks are at a constant risk of an all-too-common disaster. Without adequate preparation, server downtime is extremely costly to an organisation and can be devastating when information is lost. Mindful of this challenge, Apek has in place, cost effective quality risk assessment and response procedures which can be tailored for specific client requirements. With the focus on a proactive methodology, this ensures a clear and well defined procedure for common disaster scenarios which leads to improved response time and faster recovery of IT systems. Combined alongside proven backup technologies and fail over solutions tested and verified in real world conditions, our client’s can be confident that their data is safe and in good hands. Certified software and agents, redundant disk arrays and mirrors, tape and optical storage backups, distributed offline synchronization, uninterruptible power supplies, and offsite backups all can be customised and combined to form a multi-tiered multi stage fail safe approach to data protection, integrity and recovery.
